Dave's
2006 Daily Log
    Monday, June 12 2006

We pedaled in three states today as we completed the second leg of our journey. And what a pleasant day it was! The overcast sky lowered the temperature a few degrees and a sprightly tail wind helped propel us from Tennessee through the NW corner of Alabama and finally into Mississippi. A considerable improvement over the olden days as shown by the text on the Sunken Trace historical signs.

Illness seems to be a theme this year, as it has hit three of the riders so far. Dave is recovering from a bout of pneumonia; Rick has had a touch of the cough on day one and two; and today davide was laid low with some kind of stomach bug.

Today' song is a familiar ditty:
   Roll roll roll your bike
   Quickly down the Trace
Huffin and puffin and huffin and puffin
   Sweat drips down your face
