Up the cables

Looking down the cable route at Neil. The trail comes up the obvious buttress below, across the broken slab, and then straight up for 400 feet or so. Well, OK, not exactly straight up, more like a 45 to 50 degree angle. But still pretty steep for a trail.

The amazing thing is that this is at the end of a strenuous 8 mile/4000 foot gain hike from the valley floor. It is incredible that more tourists don't collapse of heart failure.
