"We don't need no steenking trail." Bob strikes of across a trail-less slope. We had about 3 miles of this and worse to cross between Pomas and Carne Mtn passes. The worst was figuring out how to get across a 20 foot deep dry erosion cut. We eventually had to just jump off the edge and slide down the bank to the bottom.
